ISTANBUL CITY TOUR 2

Spice Bazaar In Turkish the market is named the Misir Carsisi- the Egyptian Market- because it was built with money paid as duty on Egyptian imports. In English it is usually known as the Spice Bazaar. This long building covered by a row of low domes is where foodstuffs, above all spices, are sold in a fascinating oriental athmosphere.

ISTANBUL CITY TOUR 3

Kariye Museumformerly the Church of the Monastery of Chora, is located inside land walls east of Edirnekapi or the Gate of Adrinopolis, a major gate at the end of the Divanyolu or Mese. Its name "chora," meaning "in the country or land" is a mystical concept or a description of the monastery's location outside the city prior to the building of the Theodosian walls. This significant monument of the Palaelogon age sits on the downward slope of the seventh hill of the city, with a view of the Golden Horn below.

Eyup MosqueThe Eyüp Sultan Mosque is situated outside the Walls of Constantinople, near the Golden Horn, in the district of Eyüp on the European side of İstanbul. Built in 1458, it was the first mosque constructed by the Ottoman Turks following their conquest of Constantinople in 1453.

Piyer lotiThe famous Pierre Loti Cafe is also in this district. The well-known poet and author Loti was enraptured by Istanbul and he came here often to watch the beauties of the Golden Horn of those days. The view from this small cafe and the terrace, particularly during full moon, leaves long-lasting impressions on the visitors.
Golden Horn : Drive along the Golden Horn by the Roman Land walls and Churches of Byzantine Period.

TaksimTaksim Square (Turkish: Taksim Meydanı) situated in the European part of Istanbul, Turkey, is a major shopping, tourist and leisure district famed for its restaurants, shops and hotels. It is considered the heart of modern Istanbul, and is the location of the Cumhuriyet Anıtı (Republic Monument), which was built in 1928 and commemorates the formation of the Turkish Republic.

ShoppingOld, new, exotic, mundane, antique, kitsch— shopping in Istanbul is all these things and more, and prices are refreshingly moderate. Everyone knows about the Grand Bazaar with its 4000 shops, but in fact the entire area around it is shopping, shopping, shopping for blocks and blocks. 4000 shops is a mere fraction of the whole picture. For example, Nuruosmaniye Caddesi, east of the bazaar, is lined with jewelry stores, and fine art boutiques hide in the little side streets off it.
